Chautauqua Lake Temperatures

    The highest surface temperature reported for Chautauqua Lake in 1937 was 24.0 degrees C (75.2 F). This observation was made near Maple Springs. In 1971 at approximately the same site a maximum temperature of 25.2 degrees C (77.3 F) was observed. For the lake as a whole the maximum reported surface temperature in 1971 was 27.2 C (80.9 F). This latter value was found at the lower end of the lake near Celeron.
